Meet Richard Sergeant, the heart and creative mind behind Kangaroo School Portraits. Originally from Papua New Guinea, Richard has spent over a decade capturing special moments through his lens. Starting out as a wedding and portrait photographer, he’s developed a unique eye for detail and storytelling in his work. But now, Richard is taking a leap into a new adventure—school and family photography!

Driven by his passion for creating beautiful, lasting memories, Richard has brought together a talented team of professionals who share his vision. Together, they’ve built Kangaroo School Portraits, dedicated to bringing fun, engaging, and high-quality photography to schools and families alike.
Kangaroo Portraits
The inspiration behind the name? Richard’s 6-year-old son, Wally, who absolutely loves kangaroos. Every weekend, Wally would ask to drive out to the countryside just to catch a glimpse of his favorite animal. And so, when it came time to name the business, it only felt right to honor Wally’s enthusiasm and love for kangaroos. Now, Kangaroo School Portraits carries that playful spirit, capturing the energy and joy of childhood through the lens.
